You are always hearing ways on how to boost your adsense earnings, mainly from people trying to sell you something, saying that you will make it back “in a heart beat”. So, do “schemes” (or what ever you want to call them) like this really work? I recently watched a flash video on how someone claimed to have made 25,000 US $ from AdSense. I can’t remember the name of the site, though I know I clicked on a adwords ad, so the money he earnt from that went into advertising his site. He sent you to another site that he said he used, though he doesn’t own it, and that was what made him all his money. Some of the most important things when trying to optimize your sites for AdSense is:

- Content: You need heaps of content.
- Position: Where have you placed your ads?
- Search engine referers: what are people searching for that brings them to your site?
- Keywords: what are the highest paying keywords? How can you get them on your ads?
- Tracking: Track your visitors. What country are they coming from? Who are clicking on ads and where did they come from? etc.

He did also mention that you do need the software that he used to get all this, though I don’t think so.

You need 1000’s of pages of content. What brings as many pages as that than a forum?

The great thing about a forum is that you don’t have to create most of the content? Your users create the content for you. Another good thing is that the users lots of the time will be asking questions, and they need help with something. You should hopefully get allot of hits to those threads, becuase that is 1 good thing that people will search for in Google. If they need help with somehting. I know that I search Google allot for things like that.

Positions of ads?
Where can you place your ads? A good place to start is in a place that intergrates in with the forum or other website that you are creating. Make it so that you don’t have to scroll down to see the ad. If you read our article on how we judge a website in the blink of a eye, not all people that come to the site will scroll down, if they don’t think that the content is what they want. Though what one will do is look at the ads, and if there is something there that looks like that is may help them, there is a good chance that they will click on the ad.

Tracking and Search Engines
What keyword are people searching for that lead them to your website? Is it a high paying keyword. If it is, your ads will probably be high paying ads, becuase Google deliver AdSense ads based on keywords that are found on your website, and that uses Google search to find those keywords.

Be patient
Don’t go out today, set up a forum, get a adsense account, add the ads, that you think you will be making heaps of money. A good forum can take years to get, and you may even have to invest a little bit of money into your site to advertise it and get the traffic to start coming. If it is a forum, hopefully the traffic that you do get from advertising will signup and post, therefore creating a active forum, and I will put it this way, I would prefer to join a active forum than one that hasn’t had a post for 1 month. Also with a active forum, you are getting pages that Google is searching, and what people are searching for, therefore bringing even more people to the forum. So just a little investment can bring in heaps of money in the future.
