What is the right domain for your company? If you can find your company name in a .com, I would get that, though it may not be the best domain to promote your site in advertising campaigns.
If you have a long company name, like say: “thisisareallylongcompanyname.com”. How about “longname.com”. Well, really, it isn’t that long as it said in the name, though it is much shorter and easier to remember.
Another thing that I know companys do is use their slogan in domains and promote that. I think that is a good way, becuase slogans are made to be remembered, and just adding a .com to that wouldn’t be that hard. Common names that are maybe products that the company makes (like bike) or just really common names that is related to what the company offer, are other names that companys like getting. This can really increase their sales. Like is someone goes to bike.com, they maybe looking for a bike to buy.
Another thing is that domains like that could get high rankings in search engines. Just a few things that you may want to remember when looking for a domain, especially for a small business.

Yeah, thats actually a good point made.
Domain names do not necessarily have to portray the company name, because more often than not, those domains would be taken, so having the domain name in short and the services offered in short is advisable especially to build branding. Sort like Axitech.com (Co - Axiom, Industry - Technology).
Considering the shortage of domains on the internet currently, and the likelihood of the company names already being taken, webmasters ought to get creative with the suggested domain names. Its not about the company name being portrayed in full anymore, the process is a bit far fetched today.
