I agree that first and most important is about choosing appropriate keyowrds. That should be starting points. One extra that worked for me especially well is naming of files. Within my blog which I do on WordPress it's actually done autmatically but it's anyway good case on how succesful it is. Files on your server need to be named so they include your keywords.
