Alternatives to Photoshop

Okey we can all agree that Adobe Photoshop is the king of picture editors. But perhaps you can’t afford it or figure out how it works. Then you need an elternative for Photoshop.

Here are some alternatives for Adobe Photoshop, if you know any others please tell us:

GIMP

Paint Shop Pro

Corel Photo Paint

  • Please do not say GIMP is an alternative to Photoshop. It is nowhere near to it, nor in usability nor its feature set.

  • Gimp is most certainly an alternative to Photoshop. It can do most of what the more expensive program can do and handle all jobs except for pro printing. If you’re a pro and need pro features (like color profiles, 16-bit color, CMYK editing, etc.) then you need Photoshop but the vast majority of people will do just fine with a great program like Gimp. I wrote about this on my Photoshop vs GIMP page. Don’t be suckered in to a US$650 program if you don’t need it.
