Chris “Long Tail” Anderson looks at Guy Kawasaki’s first year of blogging and how AdSense has failed miserably to monetize it. In short, Guy’s blog is about the 40th most popular blog IN THE WORLD and AdSense brought him only $280 per month.

The Digg dilemma - submit yourself, or leave it to others?

Posted by Simon on January 5th, 2007 in Blogging, Opinion | 1 Comment

From franticindustries.com comes a pretty good article that discuss if it’s right or wrong to publish your own blog posts to Digg and if the spam system on Digg is good or not.

This is just one of the reasons why Digg’s banning system is not good. In this case, you have a legitimate website, a legitimate user submitting a story from the site to Digg, and people completely rightfully burying it. So, seemingly nothing is wrong; however, in the end, there’s a slight possibility that the website gets a ban for no real reason.

AdBriteThe new promotion page for AdBrite’s new video advertising solution InVideo is up. You can see an example of how the video ads actually works. And it looks amazing. I just wished I used video on Easy Webbers. Oh well, if you use videos on your site or plan to do you might want to check out the beta version of AdBrite InVideo. But (there is always a “but”) unfortunately AdBrite InVideo is currently only available to publishers by a special invitation.

Here are the features:

  • Fully customizable video player, easy-to-use, and 100% free.
  • Brand your videos with your own custom logo “watermark”.
  • “Split-screen” ads engage users without interrupting viewing experience.
  • Sharing features promote your site when your videos get “viral”.
  • Earn money from your videos, even when they’re embedded into other peoples’ Web sites.

Posted by Simon on January 1st, 2007 in Clicksor | 2 Comments

Clicksor has updated their publisher rules for the new year by adding a rule that bans the use of images “that suggest a direct relationship” between the images and the text ads.

Clicksor.com is announcing that all publishers are not allowed to line up images and ads in ways that suggest a direct relationship between the two. Clicksor.com is banning this activity to avoid any negative experiences for users and advertisers. Publishers who violate the above rule will be suspended. Earnings generated by publishers performing such activities will be withheld.
