Bookmarking then and now…

Posted by Gary on May 31st, 2007 in Links

I would hate to try and guess how many new bookmarking sites and techniques have jumped up in the last 18 months or so but there are still some of the old faithful ones that are still around and no doubt, hard to beat.Â

I just visited myHq, a bookmarking site that came online in 1998, and yes it’s still free and some of the users bookmarking pages look great!

The first one I clicked was http://www.myhq.com/public/f/c/fcweb/, so that means his or her user name was fcweb and they allowed their bookmarks page to be public. After viewing the page I think the fcweb stands for first class website with super quality material. What do you think of that page webmasters?Â

The point I am trying to get across is how most bookmarking sites today don’t reveal the talent of the user and the only real exception I can think of is Stumble Upon which I think is great. Users take their time and show their talent and don’t rush to see who can digg the most the quickest which to me cuts down on quality all the way around.

It must be the fast paced world in which we live:)

Enjoy
