Posted by Simon on May 7th, 2007 in Webhosting | 1 Comment

I really like companies like Ilisys who at least try to do their part in the fight against global warming. Ilisys is a carbon neutral ISP located in Australia.

They use renewable wind and solar sources to power their data centre and headquarters.

Ilisys uses more than 200,000 KWh of electricity each year, serving websites and managing email for 18,000 Australian businesses. By choosing Natural Power, Ilisys is reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a healthier environment.

Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo

Posted by Simon on May 4th, 2007 in Uncategorized | No Comments

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAccording to a few rumours Microsoft is on the way of buying Yahoo, Google’s worst enemy. Microsoft wants to have bigger cake of the Internet and buying Yahoo would be a good step up for Microsoft.

According to New York Post, Microsoft has had informal discussions with Yahoo for a time now. Their sources also now say that these discussions have turned into a more serious business and that Microsoft has already offered a bid for Yahoo.

If Microsoft buys Yahoo the company will have 27% of the search engine market. But Google will still be the king of search engines with 65% of the market.

AdBrite introduces custom interstitial headers

Posted by Simon on May 3rd, 2007 in AdBrite | No Comments

AdBrite has just introduced to it’s publisher a way to customize the look and feel of the interstitial header. You can for example change background color, add a logo and choose a “skip this ad” button.

To customize your interstitial headers you need to login to your AdBrite account and go to “Manage ad zones”. Find your ad zone and click on “Edit Ad Zone Preferences”. After that you go to “Ad Specs” and somewhere in the middle of that page you will see this (check image):

Click on “create” next to that pen icon. If you need more help with the customization you can find a official guide at “How do I create a custom interstitial header?” in the help section.
