Easy Webbers

Yesterday Apple released their internet browser Safari for Windows users. That means you, as a webmaster will have an easier time making sure that your website works in all of the major browsers.

Apple also states that their browser is the fastest one available at the moment. Well, I am not so sure about that. I still think Opera is the fastest one. But what does a second do, really? The thing that really matters is how the browsers handle the standards etc.

Which browser fits you the best? Is it Internet Explorer, Opera or Firefox? Read this little test and find out which browser fit you the best. Just don’t take it too seriously; it’s just some weekend fun. You are welcome to come up with other reasons and all that. Just post them as a comment.

If you use Firefox, Flock, Mozilla or even Seamonkey, here is a useful extension for webmasters.

With this extension you can easily view and edit the CSS code, see if the site checks for Quarks mode or Standars Mode, general information about the site, validate links, resize the window and many more useful tools and features.

A day before the scheduled public release of its long-awaited Firefox 2.0 Web browser, the Mozilla Foundation has posted the final versions of the software on its FTP servers in preparation for the public launch.

Kelsey Ruger has summed up some pretty neat firefox extensions for web development on his blog. If you use Firefox, go get some of them so that your Firefox actually can become useful.

Colorzilla - An eyedropper tool for color selection and testing. Hovering over an element shows color info, DOM path info, and the X, Y offset from the previous click.

Fang - This extension creates a textual representation of a web page similar to how the page would be read by a modern screen reader.

Here is the first picture on Microsoft’s new logo for Internet Explorer 7.

As you can see, the new logo has more modern look, and the edges are a bit darker so the icon stands out better against different backgrounds. We liked the gold ring too since it brings in new energy and helps the icon pop a bit more than the old one.

This icon and text treatment will be used on the versions of IE 7 for Windows XPSP2, Server 2003 SP1, and x64 versions. We’ll have a slightly different look for the Windows Vista™ version, one that’s more consistent with the icons there. We’re not quite ready with that one yet, but we’ll share it here once we do.

We’re happy with how this turned out; I hope you like the new look too.

Internet Explorer can make your computer unsafe. Why not switch to a browser that’s more secure?

Many already have. Read their stories, and choose a browser that’s right for you.

At this point you cant say you are using Internet Explorer because it is good. No, you are just lazy! All browsers can now for example transfer all your old Internet Explorer bookmarks and settings. You will also search the web faster and free from any security holes. There are a lot of other good things about switching to another browser than Internet Explorer. Easy Webbers doesn’t work properly in Internet Explorer, for example. So point your mouse to one of the other browser pages and get the latest version of one of their free web browsers. Now.

Well I don’t really know if this is well know because I am not a hardcore Firefox user. But many people seems to think that Firefox is a ordinary fox. This isn’t really the case:

Red panda, lesser panda Ailurus fulgens

Red pandas look more like raccoons than their closest relative - the giant panda. They are secretive and gentle creatures, spending most of the day sleeping curled up with their tail wrapped around their head.

Life span: 12-14 years.

Statistics: Body length: 50-63cm, Weight: 4-6kg.

Physical Description: Red pandas have a bear-like body with thick russet fur. The belly and limbs are black and there are white markings on the side of the head and above the small eyes. They have thick bushy tails with light-brown rings, pointed ears and a pointed snout.

Distribution: Red pandas live in southern Asia: Bhutan, China, India, Lao Peoples Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Nepal.

Habitat: They inhabit forested mountain slopes.

Diet: Red pandas mainly feed on bamboo, but also eat acorns, roots, berries, lichens and occasionally eggs and young birds.

Behaviour: Red pandas lead solitary lives, except for mothers with cubs. They are slow-moving on the ground but are remarkably agile in the trees.

Reproduction: Females give birth to 1-4 young, after a gestation period of 112-158 days.

Conservation status: The IUCN classify red pandas as Endangered, and they are on CITES: Appendix I. They are protected in Nepal and China. Habitat loss is thought to be the major reason for their decline in the wild.

Notes: Unlike other bears, their claws are partly retractable.

Yes, you heard right! The powerful Opera browser from Norway is thinking of adding a BitTorrent program into their popular browser.

Opera already supports other file protocols such as FTP and HTTP, and BitTorrent is the logical next step in the company’s strategy to make protocols available that increase productivity and the overall Internet experience for the end-users. The BitTorrent protocol differs from FTP and HTTP in that it makes downloading a large file more efficient, as individuals downloading the same file will assist each other in the download process.

Pointless Firefox extension number 138… Nah just kidding! Or am I? Well this firefox extension is, in one sentence: a very neat Adsense notifier.

It basically show you how much and when you make any money with Adsense. If you are a control freak or just don’t have anything better to do than checking your Adsense earnings every minute this is the perfect extension for you!
