AdBrite’s blue text banner bug fixed!

Posted by Simon on November 11th, 2007 in AdBrite | No Comments

The bug that changed your predefined text colour settings to blue on the AdBrite banners has finally been fixed.

After about two weeks with this awful bug I decided to send a message asking AdBrite what the heck was going on. After a few replies and a day gone by I got this message:

The technical issue causing this problem has since been resolved. Please let us know if the problem reoccurs.

They fixed the blue bug and even made some minor changes on how the banners would display the text ads. So everything ended well but you got to ask yourself how could this go on without the AdBrite team noticing anything or other AdBrite publishers not(?) complaining?

$100 CPC ad over at AvnAds

Posted by Simon on July 28th, 2007 in AdBrite | No Comments

This is crazy. An AvnAds (AdBrite’s sister site) publishers have reported a $100 CPC ad. Yes, you heard right. That’s unbelievable $100, per click.

$100 CPC Text Ad

I am not 100% sure about what kind of revenue share AvnAds has but if it’s similar to AdBrite’s revenue share the CPC price should be 70% for the publisher and 30% to AvnAds. So if not my math skills are completely whacked the publisher would get $70 from every click he generates.

Don’t trust me? Check out the screenshot taken by the publisher himself.

The ad has soon been running over 2 days on AvnAds and it doesn’t seem to be an error in the AvnAds system. Maybe the advertiser has misspelled the amount? What do you think?

AdBrite’s Revenue Share

Posted by Simon on July 5th, 2007 in AdBrite | 2 Comments

If you browse the AdBrite Forum you will often stumble upon topics that talks about the revenue share between its publishers and AdBrite themselves. But what is this “revenue share” then? It’s simply what AdBrite and you as a publisher get for every click generated. Yes, AdBrite also get money for the clicks your site or blog generates. They must be paid in some way for offering this service.

It seems that most people think that the revenue share is 75% for publishers and 25% for AdBrite. But that is not correct. The revenue share is actually 70% for publishers (you) and 30% for AdBrite. That means that if a visitor clicks on a CPC text ad that is worth $0.25 you will get 70% of that and AdBrite will get the other 30%.

AdBrite introduces custom interstitial headers

Posted by Simon on May 3rd, 2007 in AdBrite | 1 Comment

AdBrite has just introduced to it’s publisher a way to customize the look and feel of the interstitial header. You can for example change background color, add a logo and choose a “skip this ad” button.

To customize your interstitial headers you need to login to your AdBrite account and go to “Manage ad zones”. Find your ad zone and click on “Edit Ad Zone Preferences”. After that you go to “Ad Specs” and somewhere in the middle of that page you will see this (check image):

Click on “create” next to that pen icon. If you need more help with the customization you can find a official guide at “How do I create a custom interstitial header?” in the help section.

How to get more targeted and high CPC ads with AdBrite

Posted by Simon on March 13th, 2007 in AdBrite | 2 Comments

Are you using AdBrite on your site or blog? If yes then you might have asked yourself why you don’t get more targeted ads and why you don’t make more money from the clicks you generate. In this post I will answer both of those questions for you.

One thing you must understand is that AdBrite is not a contextual program like AdSense and YPN. This means that you will not get targeted ads from AdBrite that relates to the content on your site. When you create an ad zone at AdBrite you probably know you must choose a category for your site or blog. This is the category all of the ads shown on your site will relate to. That is why it’s so important to choose the right category. Choosing the right category is the first step to getting more relevant ads.

The second thing you must do is to login to your AdBrite publisher account and go to “manage ad zones”. Click on your ad zone and choose “Ad Specs”. At the bottom of that page under the title “Network Ads” un-check the box “Yes, auto-approve network ads (recommended)”. Now you might need to wait up to a day until you will get any ads to approve. But don’t worry, they will come.

Okay, so you have a bunch of ads to approve now? Great! Now you have the control to approve ads only that are relevant to your content and that pay high CPC. Depending on what kind of ad zone you have you might also get CPM banners and Interstitial ads.

AdBrite updates their earnings report

Posted by Simon on March 3rd, 2007 in AdBrite | 1 Comment

AdBrite has updated their earnings report for publishers. The new things are:

  • Month-end processing—New payment period is from the 1st to the last day of the month. Checks are still processed 2 months after. For example, your earnings from March 2007 will be processed at the end of May 2007.
  • See when you’re going to get paid—Payment processing date is displayed side-by-side with your earnings.
  • Daily, monthly, and yearly overviews—Play around with your earnings report, get as specific and detailed as you like.
  • Flat rate earnings—Flat rate earnings will now post on the date the ad starts, and will no longer display as amortized. For example, if you approve a 7 day ad for $50.00 to start on 03/01/2007, the whole $50.00 will post to 03/01/2007 on your earnings report.
  • Zone comparison—Compare each zone’s earnings on one page.
  • Excel exports—Export any table to Excel.

AdBrite releases Inline Ads

Posted by Simon on February 14th, 2007 in AdBrite | 2 Comments

AdBrite has released their inline ads today! Inline ads have been used in various text link publisher programs such as Clicksor for a pretty long time now and it’s good to see that AdBrite is trying to catch up and offer this way of making more money for it’s publishers.

Inline ads match relevant keywords from AdBrite’s network of publishers to AdBrite’s network of advertisers. Keywords are double underlined and ads appear only when the user’s cursor rolls over the targeted keyword.
